Are enemas safe? how often can they be done?

Generally safe ...: At your age you need a complete workup to assess why you have to use the enemas. If you have constipation, thats not the common first or second line treatment. There are people who need to use them on a routine basis but the frequency depends upon the etiology. Please contact your family doctor for further guidance.

Enemas are safe : If given properly. If you are using them to relieve constipation, you need to see a doctor and determine the cause before you use them too frequently. It is probably not a good idea to use it more often than a couple times a week over two or three months.
