Stepwise approach: Avoidance of injury, pressure, massage, silicone gel sheeting, steroid injections, 5fu (fluorouracil) injections, surgery and/or radiation therapy are used in the management of keloids (roughly in that progression). Laser therapy is controversial.

None topical: Small keloids can respond to steroid injection by your doctor. Larger keloids will need surgical excision with possibly adding radiation therapy to decrease the risk of recurrence.
