A member asked:

My mother age is 70 years. and she is suffering from parkinson also. and now she has choleithiasis. doctors saying in this age surgery is risky.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not all about age: More important often then age is level of function. Firstly, is your mother havng symptoms related to the gallstones? If not, watchful waiting maybe best. If she is then her level of functioning and life expectancy lving with a chronic illness is very important to assess. Her recovery from surgery and anesthesia may be more difficult if she needs help in her activities of daily living.
