See a physician: There are a number of conditions which can cause wrist pain, such as avn, carpal instability, ganglion cyst, etc. It will take an examination as well as imaging studies to nail down the diagnosis, so i would recommend that you see a physician.

Depends: If pain is over the base of the thumb, could be tendonitis or arthritis of that joint. Pain in other areas could be part of a systemic arthritis.
