Baby needs: Figure out what he is looking for. Often times it's food, sleep, diaper change, or uncomfortable temperature.

Make a list: All mom's need to make a list of what they can do for baby. Feed when hungry, warm when cold, change diaper when soiled, etc. You will find that reading babies mind is not on the list and fixing babies tiredness is not either. When you have gone through the list and baby is still fussy, it's likely tired and nothing you do will fix it. Get the ear plugs and put baby to crib and relax.
