Can a person with osteoporosis have a transplanted tooth?

Do you mean implant?: Osteoporosis may place some limitations on an implant. The biggest issue is if a patient is on a bisphosphonate. To answer your question about a transplant, where are they transplanting the tooth from? Again, if you are on a bisphosphonate i would be concerned. Speak with your medical doctor and your oral surgeon about limitations and outcomes of your current situation.

Transplant: To transplant a tooth from one location in the mouth to another is an unusual treatment with a cautious prognosis. To place an implant, an artificial metal root, and then place a crown on the implant, is a very common procedure with excellent prognosis. Osteoporosis may affect surgical result, especially if you have been prescribed bisphosphonates. Discuss all medications with all of your Dentists
