Teething: No special food for teething is needed as long as as it is soft and easily digested.

Cool and soft: Teething cutting through the gingival tissue is similar to wearing new shoes- and the rubbing on the heel- no fermentable carbohydrates unless you are going to clean afterward with a cool wash cloth or a soft toothbrush-too cold is uncomfortable-and too warm can be a bit much...

Check w Pediatrician: I'm sure your pediatrician has discussed staging of foods with thou. Do not deviate from his recommendations. Your child would probably benefit from a teether that can be refrigerated. The cold is soothing. Please note, do your child a lifetime service. Take your child to a pediatric dentist as a 1st b'day present. Don't wait until 2-3 to see a general dentist.

Cold helps: Chilled foods, such as a yoghurt or fruit purees, may soothe his gums and be more appealing.
