Swelling: Without an exam it is difficult to speak definitively, but if there are vericose veins present this can contribute to non painful swelling . Also , joint fluid can leak from small tears or weakness in the joint capsule. There are many possibilities here and an exam and xrays/tests are in order. See a podiatrist - good luck !

See below: It could be bad valves in the blood vessels causing pooling of blood and swelling. Try wearing a compression stocking.
