A member asked:

Why do our bones crack?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Nitrogen bubbles: The cracking sound comes not from your bones, but rather the fluid filled joints between them. When the joint is stretched, pressure changes within the capsule cause small bubbles of nitrogen to form. These gas bubbles cause the classic cracking or popping sound.
