Cough: Any other symptoms? Cough only at night? History of asthma? Any heartburn/indigestion? Does he smoke? Is he exposed to second-hand smoke? Answers to these questions may help better suggest what is wrong. If cough persists or there are other symptoms, see your fp for evaluation.

Could be ...: In my experience (pediatric ENT practice), cough at night is often due to reflux (gastro-esophageal reflux, or ger). Even "cough-variant" asthma, that manifests as a night-time cough, is often caused by ger. Best to see your doc about options. Also visit my website for more info (not selling anything).
