Sleep hygiene: Sleep only when sleepy. If you can’t fall asleep, get up and do something boring until you feel sleepy. Sit quietly in the dark, listen to relaxing music, read something soothing, or have a cup of caffeine free tea. Get up and go to bed the same time every day. Don’t exercise close to bedtime. Avoid caffeine, nicotine and alcohol before bed. Have a light snack with some carb or dairy products.
