A member asked:

Would it be possible for someone to dislocate the joint between your hand and thumb after removing stitches?

Unlikely: That sounds very unlikely. Usually stitches that are removed are simply holding the skin together. The joints are much deeper structures and absolutely should not be affected by the removal of skin stitches, unless for some reason there is underlying damage which has not been addressed or there is an underlying repair which has failed.
