Dont worry: A good dental cleaning will get off any surface stains that have developed. If you are looking to whiten your teeth, right after you get your braces off would be a great time. Ask your dentists about different options.

Don't be scared: Your teeth will be the same color as when you started if your hygiene has been adequate. Braces don't cause yellowing of teeth. I hope you enjoy your new smile!

Dont be...: The part that can yellow is visable while the braces are still on. If you do have yellowing or any other type of staining when the braces comeoff your dentist can probably bleach it out.

Not if cared for: My colleagues are right: if you have cared well for your oral health during braces, then any stains will be extrinsic outer stain that is removable. Good luck!

Up to you: With good oral hygiene your teeth should look wonderful when braces removed. Follow your orthodontic specialist's advice. Brush 2 full minutes (by the clock) 2x/day (especially between the braces and the gum line), clean between teeth (floss/water pik) daily, and you should have a beautiful result. Red dental disclosing tablets helpful (ask your dentist). Use Fluoride rinse. All these help.
