No: Effectiveness of orthodontic treatment has nothing to do with tooth color. First have your dentist assure that your teeth/jaws/gums are healthy. Then have orthodontist move teeth into optimal relationships for best function ; esthetics. Then dentist can whiten your teeth.

Probably not: Tooth color is not a factor in whether you can have braces. If the yellowing is de to a problem with your teeth that be make the situation different. See your dentist or orthodontist.
