Pain, numbness. : When diabetics have uncontrolled blood sugars their nerves pay the price over time. They can have tingling, burning, "tight" feelings, pain, and numbness, and once it happens it's impossible to get normal sensation back. Some oral or topical medications reduce the tingling, but nothing can reverse numbness.

See details: If you want to try a supplement, try pyridoxine. As far as prescription meds, try either Gabapentin or lyrica (pregabalin).

Some ways: Could suppress nerve pain with gabapentin, lyrica, (pregabalin) cymbalta, but a medical food metanx, which contains designer b-vitamins, can eventually regenerate small nerve fibres, and decrease symptoms, but takes many months.
