Yes: Even with well controlled dm some people can develop microvascular and neuropathic symptoms. The lower the a1c, however, the less likely this will happen.

Yes: Unfortunately, some people develop signs of peripheral neuropathy even years before their diabetes is confirmed, and a variety of nerve problems can occur in diabetes even with really good control, but intensity and severity far less. A medical food metanx may add a layer of protection and is indicated for diabetes.

Diabetic neuropathy: Yes, diabetic neuropathy can happen with managed blood sugar. However, the incident is less and so is the severity.
