A member asked:

Was wondering what could be the reason why my eyes don't dilate easily?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not a problem: People with very dark irises often are hard to dilated with eye drops because the pigment literally absorbs the medication in the drop. Diabetics also are known to have pupils that dont dilate well. Some eye conditions, like uveitis (inflammation in the eye) can lead to adhesions which prevent pupil dilation. Some medications can decrease dilation as well. Some people have naturally smaller pupil.
