What is the difference between hard contact lenses and regular ones?

Plastic: Hard lenses are rigid plastic and soft are flexible plastic with greater oxygen permeability. In general soft lenses are more comfortable and abuse tolerant but hard lenses can correct some irregular eyes that soft lenses will not.
