A member asked:

I wear soft contacts (bc=8.50, dia=14.5) and i want to try rgp lenses (bc=8.50, dia=12.0). will the difference in diameter be a problem?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not a problem: Soft lenses rest on the sclera at the edge of the cornea, so they are of higher diameter. Hard lenses rest entirely on the cornea and so have a smaller diameter. This of course is intrinsic to these lenses and so the smaller size of the RGPs will not be a problem.
