What could i do to make a open heart surgery patient comfortable after surgery?

Lovely question!: First: just be there! it's very reassuring to know you're not alone. Second: they'll be weak and will need help for a few days. Meals, assistance getting to/from the bathroom. Next: find out their worries: bills need to be paid? Walk the dog? Feed the cat? Finally: distraction. When they're feeling better, bringing reading material, music, tv, shopping, cleaning the house.
