I have less of a grip than i am used to. what could this condition be caused by?

Nervous system: If one side is significantly weaker than the other, it might originate in a dysfunction in your neck spinal column. If both sides are weaker it could be a neuropathy or myositis. If this is obvious to you, then you should see your family doctor and get this checked out.
