De[pends: Hand numbness generally comes from disturbance in the sensory nerves to the hand. This can be from nerve compression in the carpal tunnel area, elbow flexure area or in the neck (cervical) spine. Some relief from nsaids and physical therapy is possible but you might require surgical release. Diabetic neuropathy can also cause numbness. Have your doctor sort this out.
