Could endometriosis cause flank pain and/or sharp shooting pains in low abdomen?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Endometriosis: Endometriosis can affect the ovary, on the uterus, the the fallopian tubes, or rarely the intestines or bladder. Although it can only be diagnosed surgically, if it is inside the ovary, you may be able to see an endometrioma with a pelvic ultrasound. The pain you describe typically occurs only with you menstrual cycles but can sometimes cause pain at other times as well.
