Endometriosis: Endometriosis pain can occur anywhere you have these cells happen to be located. It's not unusual to have the pain occurring around the time of your period because these cells are the same type of cells that come out with your period. It's unclear how they get to other locations but these cells can be found anywhere in your body and will respond to the hormones that start your period.
