What is a cortosone shot supposed to do for carpal tunnel? how do i know if it is helping or not?

Temporary benefit: Typically, there is a localized inflammation at the tunnel causing the nerve compression. The shot is anti-inflammatory and may reduce swelling and reverse the problem. Often of limited benefit, but helps in about 30-40% and decreases pain, numbness, weakness.

It will: Help reduce inflammation in the carpal tunnel and allow blood flow more easy in the nerve due to less external pressure on it.
