Normal finding: Anyone with reflux related pain is more likely to face problems if they eat or drink anything before lying down. Avoiding caffeine, nicotine, acidic drinks and carbonated beverages can help. Not eating or drinking anything within 1-2 hours of reclining helps empty your stomach so it won't reflux as much.
