Can childbirth cause maternal death?

Dr. Megan Bird
Obstetrics and Gynecology 19 years experience
Yes: Unfortunately, childbirth can still cause death. This is usually from bleeding, general anesthesia or stroke. Your best bet to reduce this risk is to start your pregnancy healthy. Eat a balanced diet, exercise and control any medical problems you do have. Nothing can take the risk to zero but you would be surprised how much you can do!

Do people die from cfs?

2 doctor answers8 doctors weighed in
Dr. Ed Friedlander
Pathology 44 years experience
Probably not: Unlike many other physicians, i believe that chronic fatigue syndrome is real, and an immune disturbance due to some unknown virus or viruses. However, if people were dying of it, we'd almost certainly recognize some characteristic lesion. If you have cfs, good luck -- it generally remits after a while, and low-dose antidepressants and/or simply practicing new life skills seems to help some.

Can you die from untreated lymphoma in just 2 years time?

1 doctor answer3 doctors weighed in
Dr. Matthew Fero
Medical Oncology 31 years experience
The natural history: of lymphoma varies widely according to its type and aggressiveness. At one extreme, a lymphoblastic lymphoma may visibly enlarge on a daily basis and, left untreated, will be fatal in days to weeks. At the other extreme, an indolent follicular or small cell lymphoma, may grow slowly for 5 years or more. Other types fall between these two extremes.
