Several causes: Ptosis is a droop of one or both lids. If unilateral is can be thyroid disease, inflammation, muscular dysfunction, eye surface inflammation, and rarely tumors. If in both lids it can be thyroid, muscular disease, residual from childhood dysfunction, inherited issues. If severe droop, the vision can be impaired. Some are from benign causes. See your ophthalmologist for diagnosis and treatment.
