Possibly: The need for blood thinners (to prevent a stroke) depends upon many factors, including age, medical history, if there is structural heart disease (e.g. Of the valves), etc. The absence of symptoms does not necessarily mean that the arrhythmia is gone, you may still be having episodes of trial flutter that do not race fast enough (on your beta blocker) to cause symptoms.
