Probably: While there are many benign causes for flashing lights in the vision (e.g. Migraine), they may represent something dangerous such as compromised blood flow to the retina or early retinal detachment. If these continue without treatment, permanent vision loss can result. I would definitely get it checked out.

Potentially: New or worse floaters, flashing lights in your vision and/or part of your peripheral vision missing, require a dilated retinal exam by an eye doctor urgently. Do not delay. It could indicate a problem like a retinal tear or retinal detachment. It could also be an ocular migraine.
