What does it mean if you have thyroid problems ?

Dr. Joshua Rosenthal answered

Depends: There are two types of thyroid problems: 1.Functional- with high or low hormones, generally treated with medicine and 2.Structural - a thyroid nodule generally worked up with ultrasound and a fine needle aspiration if appropriate. So basically it depends on what type of thyroid problem you have. Good luck!
