Allergic to toprol (metoprolol). can i take lopressor?

Allergy: Depending on whether or not you are allergic to the active ingredient metoprolol or the inactive ingredients in toprol would be the question, . It would be hard to know if you would have the same reaction to Lopressor (metoprolol tartrate) also. Lopressor (metoprolol tartrate) and toprol have the same active ingredient but different inactive ingredients. I would suggest discussing it with your practicioner to switch to another med if need.
