Scarlet fever: Strep organism that causes scarlet fever is sensitive to augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate). After the third day your child should have responded to the antibiotic. Either he has been misdiagnosed or he isnt getting enough medicine. Take him back to the doctor for reevaluation.

Yes: Fever should be coming down & not very high now. Child should be feeling much better now.
