See below: If skin inside your mouth is raw and painful, you need to see doctor. If not , this could be medicine that you are taking or something like your touthpaste or toothbrush.

Dry mouth: If your amount of saliva has decreased it won't wash away the normal skin inside your cheeks that comes off everyday. This can happen as the result of many medications including over the counter cold and sinus medications, allergy or sleep aids.

Without going: Through a list of differential, and without an exam, more likely causes would be allergic reaction or from a candida infection - fungal infection. Did you change any oral/dental products lately? Did you go on a course of antibiotics lately or start a new medication or inhaler? Go see a professional for a look (dentist or physician).

Closys: Some people with this symptom are cured by changing to closys toothpaste which has fewer medications (chemicals). You can also brush with simple baking powder (sodium bicarbonate).

Get it checked out: There are several conditions that can be causing sloughing of mucosa inside the mouth. One is cheek biting. Other possibilities are lichen planus, erythema multiforme, pemphigus, or even lupus. These are all autoimmune disorders that can cause sloughing of tissue in the mouth. It is best to get evaluated by a professional to determine the cause. That way you can treat it appropriately.

Cheek biting: If this is a white line on the inside of both cheeks that goes from front to back and is even with where you teeth bite, then this is most likely from cheek biting. Some people do this in their sleep. It can cause mild trauma to inside of the cheek and the area heals the white dead skin on the surface peels off. Cheek biting can be caused by stress.

Other reasons...: Other than great answer provided by previous dr. , also some toothpastes which have higher amounts of Fluoride or some rinses from a different category than what you are used to use, can cause similar new, white, flaky film inside yr cheeks.
