Sharp and Stabbing: Depending on the duration of your pain, this can be several things. Lower back pain could be related to the muscles, facet joints or discs. Pain in the flank could be related to urological (kidney) issues. Please rephrase your question with more specifics so that we can answer this better. Good luck.
