A lot: About 1 percent of pregnancies are ectopic or not in the uterine cavity. They are rarely viable and are very dangerous to the mother. They can be treated with medicine and or surgery. Its hard: Hi Rosie, you cant know for sure until you do an US and blood tests, but some symptoms of an ectopic pregnancy are: mild to severe abdominal pain, nausea, vaginal bleeding. The scary thing is these are also normal symptoms of pregancy. In advanced ectopic, blood pressure drops, abdominal pain is severe. Risk factors are : previous ectopics, STD's, scarring, taking fertility meds...
