A member asked:

Had a mole shaved off. then it grew back quickly. had it all removed. came back as atypical and inflammation. what does this and inflammation mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Only that the prior: "shave" caused irritation and inflammation before the definitive excision was performed. Atypical may also be part of the previous shave causing microscopic changes. It's gone now, so protect the area and avoid ultraviolet as it heals. Any sign of recurrence over the next year, return to your surgeon. But don't worry! and don't suntan!
