Hard to know: Bacterial meninigitis may produce changes in brain substance by micro-infarcts due to inflammation perivascularly of the vessels entering cortical tissues adjacent to the subarachnoid space. These, depending on the severity, can produce changes like those you are describing. The degree of recovery (if at all) will depend on severity, location, and other factors. D/w bf doctor.
