Pregnancy possible: If the Implanon is in place longer than the typical 3 years, it may have exhausted its supply of hormone. So pregnancy is a possibility. Some sources cite a 4 year duration for contraception. Aside from that, the only other concern is having a foreign body under the skin. Btw, Implanon is no longer available in the us.
