Days: Poison ivy dermatitis should respond in a few days to your regimen. I like to start open wet dressings with a thin cotton sheet for 10 minutes followed by a cortisone cream three times daily. It is important to have a thin sheet to allow water evaporation. This acts as swamp cooler and will help quickly.

See details: Benadryl (diphenhydramine) may help the itching but generally has modest effect as a single dose. The steroid dose pack should help more although a 6 day course may not be long enough.
