A member asked:

12 weeks pregnant. diagnosed with hypothyroidis yrs. ago. now have impetigo herpetiformis during pregnancy. could really have hypoparathyroidism?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Psoriasis/pregnancy: Impetigo herpetiformis is the name for pustular psoriasis that occurs during pregnancy. It's not known why this rash occurs. There is one report of association with hyperparathyroidism. Most of the time this association is not there, however it should be tested for. Impetigo herpetiformis does need treatment to keep mom and baby safe. Please see your dermatologist.
