Yes- source of EFA's: Flax oil is a source of the essential fatty acids ala & gla. Just as vitamins, minerals & Amino Acids are essential for health, so are these 2 fatty acids and flax oil contains both. Even better than taking flaxseed oil in capsules is to get refrigerated cold-pressed flaxseed oil and use it as a base of salad dressings (I simply mix it with balsamic vinegar) or add it to cooked foods (you don't want to heat it) or grind flax seeds and put them on your salads. Many people can convert the ALA in flax to EPA & DHA, but some people can't so also need some fish oil.
