Yes, very serious!: It is usual for someone at age 28 to develop a vitreous detachment. More commonly, it is a retinal detachment. No matter what, this is most likely a retinal issue and needs urgent evaluation. Please do not delay, you need to see an ophthalmologist (not an optometrist) preferably!
