No: For 4-5 days, soak in epson salt water or iodine added water (about 1 tblsp per 1 liter ratio) for 10-15 mins once a day. Apply bandaids with triple antibiotic ointment daily too. After 5 days, stop soaking but continue with bandaid for 1 week. Lastly, no pool yet, not because of the chlorine, but because of other nasty stuff found in pools. Hope this answers your question.

Bleach is a bit: Caustic. Simple antibiotic ointment with a bandaid. I prefer flexible fabric to the plastic ones. Don't overdue it on the cream. While some here dont like the idea of you using the pool, i don't object as long as it is your pool. Open wounds in pools are not nice for the other swimmers.

Ask your doctor...: ...For instructions. Call the clinic or office, and they'll give you the information you need. In the meantime, avoid bleach--it's very harsh. If you were told to soak by your doctor, use warm water and epsom salts instead. Avoid pools until it has healed.

Simple Care: The real question is what not to do that slows down healing. Avoid using alcohol, peroxide, hibiclens, betadine, and bleach solutions. Inflammation ( red, hot, swollen, tender) is important to healing so anti-inflammatories (motrin, advil) are bad. Cover the area with a clean dressing changed every other day and protected from trauma. Antibiotics do not help healing unless it is truly infected.

Depending on when: It was performed, soaking in warm water and epsom salt, dry, apply triple antibiotic ointment and band aide during the 1st week. Most give post op instructions.
