Sunscreen SPF 30: This is a decent amount of protection, but you have to do the math. If you normally get pink, red, or burned in 15 minutes; then spf 30 will delay that from happening in 15 x 30 minutes or 7.5 hours. It depends on your skin type: if it takes you 30 minutes to get red, then you get 15 hours out of your sunscreen. Remember, though, that you have to keep re-applying it every 2 hours thru the day!
