Highly recommended: The generic ones that you can purchase at a drug store are usually grossly inadequate. Your dentist can have a custom one fabricated at a dental lab, which will fit you flawlessly. I know this is a bit more costly, but an accurately fitted and checked appliance to protect abnormal and potentially damaging wear to your teeth is well worth it.

Absolutely: Your dentist is the best clinician for diagnosing and fabricating an appliance to protect your teeth from bruxing. Many people choose to purchase otc appliances at the pharmacy, however, these are not custom-made for your mouth. As with anything custom, you will achieve a much better result. Keep smiling !

Yes: Store bought appliances cannot mimic the fit and protection that a custom appliance can offer.

Bruxism appliance: . There are many different types of materials, designs and other factors that need to be considered when making any oral appliance, including bruxism appliances. If your dentist feels competent in making you one, he\she would be the best one to decide which type is best for your particular circumstances.
