Not possible: There really is not a lot you can do unfortunately to prevent further fistulae; it depends on what the underlying condition is. If you have crohn's disease or other inflammatory disorder, then careful management of your condiiton by a gastroenterologist familiar with newer immune drugs may help prevent this complication.
