Lexapro (escitalopram) treatment: 10 mg of Lexapro (escitalopram) is considered to be the lowest starting dose for an adult. It may be the best therapeutic dose if you have mild anxiety or depression or if you are typically sensitive to medications.

I sometimes use: 5 mg of Lexapro (escitalopram) for patients who have had significant side effects with previous ssri's or who specific health issues. 10mg is the normal starting dose. Dosing comes in 5, 10, 20 mg tablets plus liquid.
