Variable: It can take several months after delivery for menstrual periods to regulate and become "normal". However, based on your age, there may be premenopausal ovarian dysfunction contributing to the unusual cycles you are experiencing. Hormones in women need to balance exactly for regular cycles and that becomes less common past the age of 38-42.
