Possibly: Depending on where it is, if it swells prior to eating then slowly decreases in size, it could be a partially blocked saliva duct. See your dentist for a visual exam and possible treatment. Btw. If it is a partly blocked saliva duct, you could try sucking on sour lemon drops, occasionally enough saliva buildup will push out the blockage.

Needs to be seen: There are many possibilities and no way to know without actually being able to see it. The fact that it has been there for 2 months makes it all the more a reason to have it looked at by a local dentist. Make sure you see a dentist when it is present rather than absent to it will be easier to diagnose. Obviously it’s not going away on its own.

Possible root canal: Seeing your dentist will give you the answer to this reoccurrence. Could be recurrent aphthous ulcers, gum abscess that breaks and builds back up, white patches, lichen planus.
